This section covers 4 main areas, each further divided into sub-areas:

  • Cognitive neuroscience
    • neuroconstructivism
    • connectionism
  • General neuroscientific findings about music
    • music has powerful effects at the neural level
    • music activates many different areas of the brain
    • musicians brain structures are different from those of non-musicians
  • Imagination as the basis of composing / improvising, performing, and listening to music.
